Franck Evennou
Franck Evennou gave his first exhibition at Avant-Scène in 1991. This meeting led them to work together on many other creations for their clients and art collectors. 'The Spirit of Bronze' collection is a title which imposes itself, after all these years rich in collaboration, as an image of this evolving, developing body of work followed by many faithful collectors.
His forms and materials leading the beat, Franck Evennou expresses himself in bronze as others do in verse. A poetic language where the choices of fabrication, enhanced by a craftsman's savoir-faire, remain all important. Each handcrafted piece retains its secret, its identity and a unique spirit that reflects the artist's manner of creating.
You will discover new graphic creations with highly constructed clean lines which always conserve the feel of bronze in aerial pieces, more like sculptures than furniture, where Franck Evennou seems to have imprisoned space.
Born in 1958
At the age of 20, Franck Evennou was sculpting stone and wood in the atelier of Leslie Kaye. He was fashioning brute materials with simple rhythms, full of primitive sensations.
At the same time, he was modelling furniture, bronze objects, jewellery, table arts and rugs in the spirit of his sculptures.
He creates a world of forms inspired from nature in matter bearing the erosion of an imagined history, blending nostalgia with a nod at the past.
A poetic language where artisanal savoir-faire prevails. Each piece, crafted by hand, retains its unique spirit, reflecting the artist's method of creating.
